Legal firm Dickinson Dees has signed up to assist a multi-million pound Building Schools for the Future (BSF) project.

Legal firm Dickinson Dees has signed up to assist a multi-million pound Building Schools for the Future (BSF) project.

As one of the UK's leading BSF legal experts, the Newcastle-based firm has been appointed by Stockton Borough Council to give legal advice on all aspects of the £150-million scheme.

The BSF programme will allow the construction and renovating of educational facilities across Stockton borough in two phases, with 16 schools standing to benefit.

The legal firm is already experienced in such matters, having advised nine local authorities on schemes worth some £1.6 billion.

Kevin Robertson, a partner at Dickinson Dees and specialist in BSF projects, said: "This project is yet another example of how the public and private sectors can work together to deliver tangible benefits for residents and communities."

Lionel Danby, Stockton Council's BSF project director, welcomed the "depth and breadth of legal advice" offered by Dickinson Dees.
