Denton Wilde Sapte is investing heavily in its Middle Eastern venture, having sent recently made up partner Paul Stothard to Dubai.

Mr Stothard will move to Dubai next month; a quick move considering he was made partner just 12 days ago, but it reaffirms the company's commitment to taking a slice of the market.

It was revealed last month that the company was also drafting a policy in which its lawyers will be made partner if they agree to work for some time in Dubai.

Mr Stothard himself has already spent three years in the Emirate however, and insisted that being made partner had no bearing on his current plans to move back.

"Its not one of these deals in which I'm doing a tour of duty with the expectation of coming back. This is market driven and doesn't have anything to do with that," he said.

As a dispute resolution lawyer Mr Stothard added that Dubai is more and more becoming a centre for arbitration, and so the need to be based in the Emirate makes complete business sense.
