Absoft secures lucrative deal with Centrica Energy
03 May, 2007Business software specialist Absoft has managed to bag a six-figure contract with Centrica's gas production business, Centrica Energy, it has emerged.
The five-year contract is reported to be worth around £120,000, according to High-Tech Scotland.
The Scottish software company will provide full functional and technical support to Centrica Energy's SAP system for its Morecambe Bay gas fields.
Centrica Energy's business solutions manager, Andy Williams, said that Absoft was selected for the project because of its proven capability and its focus on the oil and gas industries.
Absoft managing director Ian Mechie said: "A growing number of companies, including operators and businesses across the energy sector, are recognising the benefits of SAP software.
"Absoft has an unrivalled combination of oil and gas business understanding and SAP expertise which puts us in a prime position to service companies across the spectrum, whatever their individual needs."
The news comes soon after Centrica announced that it hopes its new green unit will enable it to lead the way in the growing UK market for energy efficient solutions.
